Collaboration for Skill Development

The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), in partnership with Seva Bharti and Yuva Vikas Society, has launched the second phase of the Grameen Udyami Project to enhance skill training in tribal regions for sustainable development.

Empowering India's Youth

The project aims to equip India's youth with a diverse set of skills, enabling them to earn a livelihood and become self-reliant.

Inclusivity for Indigenous Tribes

The initiative focuses on incorporating indigenous tribes into the workforce, ensuring their comprehensive development while keeping them rooted in their specific regions.

Multiskilling in Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand

Grameen Udyami is a unique multiskilling program sponsored by the NSDC, targeting 450 tribal youth in Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand.

Expanding Across Six States

This initiative operates in six states: Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Gujarat, with funding from the Sansadiya Parisankul Yojana.

Objectives of the Initiative

The project aims to boost the rural/local economy, create more job opportunities, reduce forced migration due to the lack of local prospects, and promote natural resource conservation

Diverse Skill Training

Participants receive training in various job categories, including plumbing, masonry, 2-wheeler repair and maintenance, electrician skills, solar PV installation, farm mechanization, IT/ITES with e-Governance.

The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) is a non-profit public limited corporation established in 2008 through a Public Private Partnership model. It is governed by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, with 49% government ownership and 51% private sector ownership.

NSDC plays a crucial role in providing financial support to create scalable and effective vocational training programs, contributing to India's skill development and employment generation efforts.
